Hotlap is a small hobby site where people upload and compare lap data from their track days. It is run by one person on a home server. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
Your Google account name and email address, from Google sign-in. Nothing else is requested from Google: no contacts, no Drive, no Gmail.
What you upload and type in: AiM .xrk logger files and the lap data decoded from them. That includes GPS position, speed and, if your logger records them, throttle, brake and similar channels. It also includes the cars, setups and notes you enter.
A session cookie that keeps you signed in. It isn't used for anything else.
Everyone who is signed in to Hotlap can see all sessions, laps, cars and setups, and anyone with a Google account can sign in. Hotlap is for comparing laps with each other, so only upload what you're happy for other drivers to see. The original .xrk file is kept too, and signed-in members can download it. It contains everything the logger recorded while it was on, usually just your time at the track. Nothing is public to people who aren't signed in. Your data is never sold or shared with anyone else.
On a server in Ontario, Canada, reached through Cloudflare, which handles the HTTPS connection. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts. Databases are backed up nightly and backups are kept for 14 days.
You can delete any of your sessions, along with their laps and the uploaded file, from the session's Edit page. To have your whole account and everything in it removed, ask the site owner at [email protected]. It will be done within 30 days, including backups.
